An aircraft carrier goes to sea with everything from aircraft repair centers, electric and steam power plants, medical and dental facilities and even radio and television stations to flight decks, C3I, operations, and more onboard. Each ship is home to over 3,000 men and can remain at sea for months at a time.

In addition, an aircraft carrier is never alone. It is the center piece of each Navy Fleet, with dozens of frigates, destroyers, cruisers, supply ships, and even submarines sailing alongside. Combined, the firepower of each fleet can be devastating.
